Tochigishiro Cultivar:

• Cultivar of hemp grown in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan
• Developed by Fukuoka University professor Itsuo Nishioka in the early 1980s
• Missing the enzyme responsible for producing THC
• Meets international standards of non-narcotic agricultural hemp at about 0.2% THC
• Most widely grown cultivar in Japan, constituting about 90% of hemp grown

Cultivation and Productivity:

• Grows approximately 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall
• Considered the most productive known crop for biomass
• Reported to yield 52.7 tonnes per hectare in a single season
