Nevil Schoenmakers

Nevil Schoenmakers (1956–2019) was an Australian-born cannabis breeder, notable for founding the world’s first cannabis seed bank, “The Seed Bank of Holland,” in the 1980s in the Netherlands. He played a key role in cannabis genetics, working with strains like “Original Haze” and “Skunk #1.” Schoenmakers became a target for DEA Operation Green Merchant but eventually sold The Seed Bank to Sensi Seeds and co-founded Greenhouse Seed Company.
